Mark P. Becque was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, and grew up in a military family, moving from Baltimore before settling in Arizona. He graduated from Buena high school in Sierra Vista and attended Pima Community College in Tucson Az. where he studied education. Mark’s early achievements include competing in the Junior Olympics as a swimmer and pursuing a professional tennis career, becoming head pro and general manager at King’s Court Tennis Club in Sierra Vista at age 20. Not long after, he discovered his passion for working with retirees.

In 1990, Mark joined New York Life, and by 1993, launched his own insurance brokerage. "I was always intrigued by estate planning and life insurance," he says, "and I discovered I had a real interest in working with retirees." Helping clients craft retirement plans that empower them to live out their dreams became Mark’s central focus, and developing lasting relationships with clients and their families remains a source of personal fulfillment.

"It’s never been a one-size-fits-all business for me,” Mark explains. “Everyone I meet has a unique set of life and financial circumstances. If you sit down and listen—really listen—you can learn so much about what they’ve endured and what they value for their futures."

Mark is known for his methodical, three-appointment approach, never rushing the process, pressuring clients, or pushing products. "I’ve followed this approach for the past 31 years," he notes. "When someone wants to open an account immediately, I encourage them to do their due diligence. When clients see you’re genuinely serious about listening, a deeper, more qualitative relationship develops."

In the late 1990s, Mark created a retirement system that he marketed nationwide, recruiting and training advisors to present seminars and work effectively with prospects and clients. During this period, he competed in the U.S. Triathlon Championships, racing professionally in Las Vegas and achieving a national ranking before an injury forced him to step back from competitive athletics.

Today, Mark enjoys running, fishing in northern Arizona, and spending time with his wife Lupita, who manages the Green Valley Financial office. To honor his military-veteran father, Mark served as secretary, treasurer, and vice president of Sons of the American Legion Post 131 in Green Valley, Arizona, and is a former board-member trustee for the Sierra Vista Elks Lodge No. 2065.
